You: behavior x makes me uncomfortable. Him: doesn 8767 t matter bc I 8767 m getting what I want and your feelings and comfort don 8767 t matter Because that is exactly what he 8767 s saying. He 8767 s not even trying to hide his incredible self absorption. Maybe he 8767 s a serial killer, maybe he 8767 s just an incredibly awkward guy, but he told you that your feelings do not matter. I 8767 m sorry but having trouble with why you are pursuing this. There are so many fish in the sea. Listen to your gut when was it ever wrong???
I am just getting so tired of seeing women I think look healthy described with the words I mentioned. And I don 8767 t mean celebs who may look sick in real life but have a healthy glow airbrushed on their pics. I mean catty remarks directed toward everyday women who are close to 8775 ideal 8776 weight, by other everyday women who in some cases are not much heavier than those they disparage.
With experience you 8767 ll learn that you can handle making the occasional mistake or faux pas. Which will give you more confidence. You 8767 ll feel less scared about embarrassing yourself by saying something too boring, dumb or offensive. Which will make you speak up more easily and more often. This doesn 8767 t happen overnight it 8767 s a learning process.
What do people do when they make a social mistake? They apologize and empathize. If you say something weird or offensive to someone you are not yet doomed. Just say 8775 Oh sorry, that didn 8767 t come out the way I intended! 8776 and then change the subject to something else.
Hi, just sort of found your post randomly. I actually was just looking around for some sort of PERCEPTION about the very body type discussed above, which also happens to describe mine. I 8767 m married, and so at 79, I 8767 m already doing fine with a man who thinks I 8767 m beautiful, but mainly concerned about being personally satisfied with my body, not just how others would see it.
Trust me Hun nobody looks at you in that way and please don 8767 t think of ending your life. Your dad is out of order saying those nasty things to you, no father should make thier child feel like that. I 8767 m sorry your feeling like this and yes life is hard sometimes it can really push us but you have to be strong and fight your demons. There are lots of books and website that can help you with your confidence and self worth. Is there anybody in youre family or school you can talk to about how your feeling?
A friend once gave me an odd book called 8775 The Cowgirl 8767 s Guide to Love. 8776 (By odd I mean things like: it frequently refers to men as 8775 John Waynes. 8776 ) But among some questionably personality typing was also some good words to live by, including, 8775 Test the Brakes. 8776 The book has a whole section on making sure your John Wayne knows how to take 8766 No 8767 for an answer. I think it 8767 s sound advice.
I figured that, with a guy who writes to a woman for advice, on an explicitly feminist website, odds are good that a more detailed feminist perspective couldn t hurt.
Did you become an 8775 ex-con, 8776 8775 drug dealer, 8776 or 8775 violent abusive man 8776 when you 8775 gave up 8776 and started attracting women? No? Then I guess you don 8767 t have to be a 8775 thug 8776 to attract women after all, do you? Therefore, you should stop spreading this silly myth, which helps no one but harms many.
I’m the most awkward person I know. I’m introverted, I can’t make conversation, I’m terrible at talking to people. Whenever I make a joke, I’m the only one who finds it funny. Whenever I try “flirting”, I come off as sarcastic, cold, and distant.
Also, I have absolutely no clue on what to do in social situations. A few days ago I was invited to a party — and I pretty much just stared at my phone and the wall and my shoes and food the whole time. It sucked.
What do I do in a social situation when I suck at socialising?
